Our Mission

Our mission is to protect life by bringing practical fire service knowledge into everyday spaces.
We build trust through presence, elevate awareness through real-world perspective, and equip people with clear fire safety skills, including fire extinguisher readiness and calm decision-making, so they can recognize risk, act with purpose, and protect one another when seconds matter. Because buildings can be replaced.
People cannot.

Our Vision

We envision communities where people are present, prepared, and accountable for one another, where awareness replaces complacency, preparation becomes a daily habit, and calm decision making is practiced before a crisis begins.

Grace Under Fire exists to help build that future by carrying forward the fire service mindset, so people move through their homes, workplaces, and communities safer, stronger, and more ready.

Our Philosophy

In the fire service, values aren’t something you recite they’re something you live.

They show up in the choices you make, the care you offer, and the standards you uphold, even when no one is watching. Those same values guide everything we do at Grace Under Fire:
Integrity
Say what you mean. Keep your word. Stand by your work, especially when it matters most. Service
Service

When someone needs help, you show up not for credit or recognition, but because helping is simply what you do.

Education

Knowledge becomes protection when it’s shared. We teach because someone once taught us and passing that forward can save a life.

Community

To serve a community is to become part of it. We look out for people the way firefighters look out for each other with trust, humility, and heart.

Professionalism
Details and standards are not paperwork. They are life safety. Doing things the right way, every time, is who we are.
Woven through everything we do are three simple promises
Connect with People. Inspire Confidence. Empower Action.

Things Worth Sharing

Programs, Stories, and Practices We Value.

These are efforts we believe in, because they strengthen awareness, preparation, and community trust.

Encouraging You to Join the Citizens Fire Academy

The Citizens Fire Academy (CFA) offers community members a meaningful opportunity to understand how firefighters think, train, and respond, building connections between the public and the fire service through shared responsibility and respect. Participants gain insight into training, emergency decision-making, fire behavior, rescue operations, and community risk reduction. For many, the experience reshapes how they view preparedness, at home, at work, and in the community.

CFA graduates often leave with increased confidence, situational awareness, and a practical safety mindset they carry forward. We believe programs like CFA help people move through the world more prepared, not fearful, and more engaged in prevention.

A Little Fire Service History

When Fire Safety Entered the Living Room
In the late 1940s, a groundbreaking radio program called Firefighters brought fire safety education directly into American homes, decades before modern prevention campaigns.
Created by Bill Holland, the series ran for more than 140 episodes and helped popularize the term firefighter in place of fireman, reinforcing the profession’s identity as one centered on service and protection.
